Redelease consolidates a partnership with AkzoNobel and obtains permission to operate in the market of São Paulo
Company will distribute organic peroxides in the most demanding State in the country
Redelease is the new official distributor of organic peroxides of AkzoNobel in São Paulo, a State that has the largest number of Brazilian companies that consume these products. With two plants in the capital and one under construction in the region of Campinas, Redelease will share the service to São Paulo's market with VI Fiberglass, a company headquartered in Guarulhos.
“It was the recognition of the work we have done over the recent years as retailers. From now on, we can provide our customers with all the technology support that a global company such as AkzoNobel offers”, said Roberto Iacovella, director of Redelease.
A similar situation happened about two years ago, recalls Iacovella. The distributor of Georgia-Pacific (GP), manufacturer of phenolic resins which recently transferred the business control to SI Group Crios, Redelease was rewarded for its performance with the permission to also provide urea-formaldehyde-based resins. “We operate as a real extension of the sales department of our partners, respecting their concepts and adding our agility”, he says.
Iacovella also highlights the fact that Redelease is a reference for composite processors that participate in the segments characterized by high corrosion, such as paper and pulp, chlorine/soda and sugar and ethanol – the company set up a structure to operate only in that area. “AkzoNobel has several products specifically for high performance applications, thus it makes complete sense that we operate jointly”.
According to Marcelo Bomk, account manager for the composites market of AkzoNobel, aspects such as tradition, aggressive attitude and the successful history of partnerships with other multinationals, such as Ashland (resins) and Owens Corning (fiberglass) weighed in favor of Redelease. “In addition, Redelease, even as an independent retailer, has always favored the partnership with AkzoNobel”, he states. In the medium term, Bomk expects that such distribution policy change may lead to a 10% increase of AkzoNobel’s sales in São Paulo.
The contract also guarantees that Redelease operates across the country as a distributor. But, in this case, the company will have to share the coverage with a larger number of competitors. “Taking into account the importance of São Paulo’s market, I believe we will be able to double the volume of organic peroxides we sell”, Iacovella estimates.
